What is South Geeks?
South Geeks builds high-performing software engineering teams with talent from Latin America for companies worldwide looking to accomplish bold IT projects with cost-effective, excellent service.
Why did you name your company South Geeks?
● South: We come from the South West part of the globe. Our co-founders were born in Argentina and had their careers take off throughout Latin America. Along the way, they met many talented colleagues, most in Mexico, Argentina, Colombia, Chile, Brazil, and Uruguay.
● Geeks: Let’s face it, when it comes to technology, we all want it handled by the ones that know it all… those who we affectionately call “geeks”. Only they can resolve seemingly impossible problems with just a few clicks without losing their cool. That’s why we love them.
Why should I work with South Geeks?
At South Geeks, we care deeply about connecting our clients with the best talent to bring their brilliant tech ideas to life.
Our company was born in response to a widening industry epidemic in which low-cost developers were poorly vetted in favor of saving companies money, often times at exponentially larger costs in the untimely and improper completion of projects. So we made it our daily mission to prove that there is a better solution.
We understand that delivering the best product and service requires sourcing talent from a pool of qualified candidates. For each software development project, we carefully vet the required competencies across a pool of 14,200+ professionals and have the selected candidates undergo rigorous testing before presenting them to our clients.
We’re a socially responsible company with a business model centered upon rewarding developers with truly competitive rates to ensure the highest quality work. That’s why both clients and developers love working with us.
Where is the Company located?
South Geeks was established as an LLC in Wyoming, US, by two co-founders from Argentina. The company has a robust team of expert software engineers distributed all across Latin America to be able to meet a wide-range of client needs.
WORKING WITH OUR GEEKS
What is the process to get Geeks for a project?
We’ve boiled it down to a simple three-step process:
1. Describe Your Need: You’ll tell us what you’re looking for and we’ll ask you some questions from a soft and tech standpoint to provide rates and availability.
2. Select Candidates: Within 2 weeks of the agreement, you’ll receive the first pool of candidates to pick your favorite/s. We’ll then coordinate interviews for you to meet and evaluate them.
3. Start Working: We’ll handle the administrative onboarding process. You just welcome your Geek/s and hit the ground running with your technical needs as part of your team.
What technologies do your Geeks know?
We purposely build relationships with Geeks who are experts programming the most popular software technologies. Their skill set includes, but is most certainly not limited to Angular, Node, Ruby, React, Java, Python, PHP, C++ and Blockchain, among many others.
Likewise, we have a strong, multi-disciplinary Data Engineering team members who can keenly dissect and transform data into actionable insights for operational use.
What is your Geek recruitment process like?
Recruiting our Geeks is one of the most important part of our business. That’s why we have focused our efforts in assembling a strong candidate database through an exhaustive selection process. We also created a Geek Referral program that continues to be very fruitful in collecting solid candidate recommendations from talent whose work ethic we already know and trust.
Candidates undergo a 5-step selection process: Logics, Math, Coding, Soft Skills, and English. These strict evaluations assess their competences to ensure alignment between the client’s desired candidate profile and the Geeks that will be presented to them.
How long does it take until I get my Geek?
The availability of Geeks varies depending on the characteristics of each project. However, on average, a Geek is usually assigned within two weeks or less.
What if I need a whole team of Geeks?
We specialize in building teams based on our client needs; there are no maximum or minimum requirements for how many Geeks we can engage on behalf of our clients.
We understand that some companies prefer to start by enlisting one Geek and then incorporating additional ones based on their specific needs. We even assemble co-located teams to work together in a shared office space at a minimal additional cost for clients.

How do you foster high quality standards across your Geeks?
We find that Geeks are most motivated not only when they are being fairly compensated for their hard work but also when they get to build alongside peers who they either admire and want to learn from, or they can mentor and help grow into their full potential.
Our ongoing goal is to create these conditions for them, so that the end result is pride – for producing great work, for making our clients happy, and for growing from the experience along the way.
How do I communicate with my Geek?
Each Geek is provided with unlimited Skype credit to communicate with clients worldwide. We can also set up local phone lines if required.
With Slack integrating the bulk of internal communications within organizations, our Geeks are used to joining client’s existing workspace. We can also create a Slack workspace on the client’s behalf for the project at hand.
How do you manage the time that Geeks spend on projects?
Our work philosophy is transparency. We want you to be able to see the way our Geeks are using the time that you are being charged for whenever you need to. We provide access to an online time-tracking tool so you can have full visibility of how your team is using their time.
FINANCIALS & PERFORMANCE
How do you define your prices?
We have a pricing list structured based on the different profile options a client may request; rates vary based on the level of seniority and the technical expertise required.
What are the payment methods?
We accept wire transfers, as well as ACH and QuickPay tools such as Zelle, all connected to our US bank account.
How long do I have to wait until I get my quote?
Upon receiving your request, we may contact you to gather more details about the project. Once we have all the information we need, we will provide a quote within a maximum of two business days.
Can I offer a performance bonus to my Geek?
Of course, we too like to reward great work and welcome clients that want to show their appreciation for a job well done.
What if I am not satisfied with my Geek’s performance?
In the uncommon event that you’re not satisfied with your Geek, we ask that you please reach out to your South Geeks contact right away. A supervisor will asses the situation and take immediate action course-correct or make any necessary adjustments.

What are the requisites to become a Geek?
Besides rocking at coding and having an awesome attitude, you’re required to be available to work on a remote basis, own a proper laptop, have a good ISP, be able to work the hours agreed to with the client, and have the desire to learn and manage challenges. Depending on the client profile, an upper-intermediate level of English may be required.
